So What is The (almost) FreeStore? And why should I care?
Well here's the Nuts & Bolts of it
I'm just a guy named Carl who loves cruising Auctions, Yard Sales, & Thrift Store searching for Fun, Unique and occasionally useful Antiques, Books, Movies, Games & other Cool Discarded Treasures. I collect some of these things. The rest I try to find new homes for with other people who will love them too.
I also love Independent Artists, Bands & Writers and want to give them a place to promote & sale their products
Here's I would LIKE this little experiment to work..
Do you have something to sell or promote? For just $5 a month I can promote you here on this blog, Twitter @almostFreeStore & Facebook https://www.facebook.com/thealmostfreestore.carlpuckett
In addition to the virtual promotion, if you have items like business cards, stickers, can huggers, DVDs & other promotional goodies send them to me! I will spread your praises far and wide with a sneaky little strategy I call:
GIVING STUFF AWAY FOR FREE!!
That's right. It's amazing how folks will listen to your message when you give them something free with it! The kind of things I plan to give away will depend on what's being promoted and what I have the most of at any given time. A new author's work might have a download code on a bookmark given away with some free paperback books. An artist's website can be promoted on a tag for a free designer decorator bottle.
Or you can forget the $5 a month and just sell your stuff on commission on the site (we can negotiate rates later). Your items can run alongside of the funky items I sell like this:

Right now due to the hassles of shipping (and my own laziness) I'm concentrating my efforts with The(almost)FreeStore to the Birmingham/Odenville area. I can meet you just about anywhere with some amazing items that you're sure to love. The(almost)FreeStore probably won't make me rich. What I really want this venture to achieve is some social good by giving people MORE than they paid for and giving some very talented people the exposure they deserve.
